The Best Christmas Children’s Book

Best Christmas Book

I have always been a lover of all things Christmas. It is the most exciting time of the year for me. Even before I was a Believer, it was the holiday I looked forward to January through November.

Now, as a mom, I have a whole new outlook on this amazing holiday. We take in all the local events, share the story of Jesus and enjoy shopping for gifts. Our three-year-old is beginning to love the season, too!

Here are a few traditions we hold dear to our hearts, and I hope it helps inspire you to build memories with your kiddos.

How to overcome guilt or judgement by spending time in Romans 14

Romans 14: How to overcome guilt or judgement

It’s been so long since I’ve written a faith centered post… (here’s the last one) and I have felt the Holy Spirit tugging at my heart this last month.

I find it ironic that I am the first person to build people up and tell them they can do anything, yet I find myself crippled by sharing anything lately. Not because I have fear or self-consciousness, I mostly have suffered a writer’s block of sorts.  I have been so dedicated to reading my Bible this year, despite getting a late start after taking months off. #truth

I’m Not Scared: new children’s book will help your kiddo face their fears

5 / 11 / 185 / 10 / 18

This is a sponsored post with Blessed Coast Books. All content and opinions expressed are my own. Affiliate links are used, and you may read my full disclosure here.

I decided to take a few days off from blogging to concentrate on my sweet boy. At only 2 1/2, BabyCoolJ has been such a trooper with our move. From staging our home, to running out the door, to living out of boxes, it has been such a great change being planted and building roots in our new community. We are now almost 3-weeks-in! And every day he says “I love our new home.”

For every season and change, I turn to books for my toddler. A good book can really speak to children, and it is amazing how a story can help them get through anything. Before we began packing, we read him Boomer’s Big Day on a daily basis. It really helped the transition of moving.

How to find a new church after a move

How to find a church after a move

Being a part of a church family is important to my husband and I. We want to be connected, be filled with His Word and grow in community. And we’ve learned (the hard way) what being disconnected does to our lives and our family.

But it can be hard to church shop. Hopping from church to church can be exhausting, and while I look forward to visiting a handful of new congregations, I wouldn’t want our list to be too long.

From faithless to faithful: how I found my way back to God (part 2)

4 / 9 / 184 / 8 / 18

While there is a lot to share my in my early years, these last few years have been a whirlwind of excitement as I found my way back to God. If you’re just tuning in, I wanted to take some time to share my personal testimony. My most popular posts like this one, this one, and this one are all about God, so what better way to celebrate than with my own faith journey?

If you read part 1, you know a little about my background pre-2010’s. Now I’m going to dive into my favorite part, especially because it includes my husband!

From faithful to faithless: a look at my early years with Christ (part 1)

4 / 2 / 184 / 3 / 18

She Speaks Truth Bible

I’ve been wanting to share my testimony for some time, yet every time I sit down to write it I become distracted or am all-over-the-place with what direction to take. I consider my testimony to have been at it’s peak around 2014, when actually I have so many stories to share from sometime in the 90’s all the way to this year, 2018.

So where do I start? Well, let’s go back a little….

The best way to start your day

3 / 5 / 183 / 4 / 18

Okay, so before you read past the title I have a confession: even though I am about to share the best way to start your day, I am guilty of hitting that snooze button and skipping over this more than I’d like to admit. There are days that I don’t even set an alarm (aka pre-meditated snoozing). Those days are never as good, no matter how many great activities we have planned.

I am not a morning person. In fact, my father would throw water on me in the mornings so I would wake up for school. Then I would proceed to sleep in the bathtub while the shower ran. I’m grumpy. I am naturally a night owl, I was never meant for mornings.

How to start a prayer journal (with free printables!)

2 / 26 / 186 / 29 / 18

I hesitate using the word journal. For some I think it holds a negative connotation, or may even be intimidating. So don’t click off this post just yet! My how-to guide is a little different than your traditional “journal.”

In 2016 I began a relationship with my first Christian mentor. God handpicked the perfect person and used her in a way that radically transformed my life. One of the best gems she passed on to me was creating a prayer journal.

8 things I’ve learned since becoming a Christian

2 / 17 / 184 / 30 / 18

I love being a believer. My life is fuller, brighter and full of hope. I think it is such a shame that there is a stigma that comes with being a Christian, but after reading the New Testament one quickly learns that is the way it must be. Christians have been and will continue to be persecuted.

I grew up in a Christian household only to deny my faith in my early 20’s. I spent my entire 20’s chasing my own selfishness. Finding pleasure in the world. But I have never been happier since becoming a Christian.

I chose Jesus in 2014. Mi Amor and I have become steadfast in our faith and are proud to be Christians. But it didn’t come without plenty of bumps along the way, so I know I have some interesting insights on what it means to me to be a Christian.
