Toddler fashion: The cutest duds for your dapper 2-year-old dude

This is an updated post from February 5, 2018. New season, new style and new deals! Some of the links on this post are affiliate links, and you can read more about that here.

Okay, boy mamas, let’s talk about something that weighs on my heart every time I go shopping for my 2-year-old BabyCoolJ: the lack of cool clothing for boys! As I stroll by all the pink, tutus and bows I can’t help but feel bad that all that I can find in the boy-corner is boring outfits.

So, I am here to help. Since shopping is my ‘thang, I take a lot of pride in dressing my (in my opinion) super hip tot. I’ve done the work for you, scouting out the cutest duds to make your little guy one dapper dude.

Here are a few of this season’s coolest outfits, plucked from my favorite toddler retailers and brands:

H&M Kids

These guys make such cute clothes and great prices! I love them for staples like graphic tees and jeans, and they also have some super cute special occasion wear.

Epic Threads

Epic Threads is my all time favorite for super trendy clothes. I won’t buy too many items from them because of this, but always get 2-3 pieces per season. You can find them at Macy’s and when they have stuff on sale you can score with items as cheap as $2!

Baby GAP

I just love me some Baby GAP. I generally shop the factory outlet store, but it is usually slim pickin’s. I’ll say I totally avoid anything labeled with GAP, that is just not my taste.

Cat & Jack

I’m a total Target fangirl so it is no surprise that Cat & Jack fills my toddler’s drawers. They have awesome daily wear. My only beef with C&J is they do not change frequently so there is always 1-2 toddlers wearing the same t-shirts when we are out.

And no outfit is complete without some cool kicks.

Thank God I had a boy so my shoe obsession doesn’t rub off on him (or maybe he’ll be another Dre Johnson…that closet!!!).  I try to keep his shoes to 2 pairs per season and right now he goes back-and-forth between some sweet pumas and his chucks. He even says chucks! He is so my child.

  1. It looks like your son is a train aficionado! My first born absolutely loved trains too. His train sweater is my favorite, but the other things you selected are all really cute. I usually end up picking up a Cat and Jack outfit for baby showers.

  2. I feel the same way! Boys clothes are so limited in retail in comparison to little girls! It’s just not fair! Good job mama, kiddo is stinking adorable!!! ❤️

  3. My son is only 10 days old but having had a daughter first I have noticed that there are more choices in girl clothes than boys. Great fashion tips x. Thanks for sharing.

  4. These are all great places I need to check out. I have two boys and usually shop at Gymboree for them. My heart will always long for a little girl to dress, but I do my best with my boys!

    1. You can definitely find some great items at these other retailers, but Gymboree is always our go-to too! I didn’t include them because they didn’t have enough options to showcase this season, guess they are having an off-time. His train sweater is actually Gymboree!

  5. I love target for kids clothes too but agree about the limited selection! they just got a new brand for kids with disabilities that i’m excited about as well!

  6. All of my children are adults, but when they were little, I took the time to make sure they were dressed very nice. I wanted them to learn all about style and making a first impression. Love the outfits. And your little one will be the hit wherever he goes!

    1. I know, right?!! They are tucked away at Macy’s, but once you pass through all the Carter’s this adorable line shines through. Hope you find some cute items!

  7. Oh my goodness what cute options for little dudes. It is so hard for boy moms to find cute options. They definitely make more clothes for girls.

  8. Ooh, I like the vest. Dapper is a somewhat common word in our family, and we do dapper vintage style. We also like hats. It is nice to find more options for boys. Thank you for sharing!
