Do you run a local business and struggle to come up with ideas for social media?
I’ve been sharing tons of ideas for boutiques this whole week. Between lives over on Facebook and a very special idea-filled email to my subscribers, I’ve been passing on my favorite tips for you to repurpose and create today for your own social media!
I have one last tip I am dying to share – and this one can be used for any type of local business.
Share local content.
I know, easy right?!
Think of your ideal customer. Who are they? (and if you struggle with this, we should totally hop on a free discovery call!) Do you know what they want, need and are interested in?
Take that and turn it into life-changing content. Okay, that is super dramatic, but seriously – be that business. Tap into something realtors have done forever and serve your local audience!
I love sharing content towards moms when I do local posts. There is not much in our area, and I know how important getting out of the house is! While I am serving only a portion of my audience, if I was a brick and mortar imagine the impact this would have!
The majority of my content is blog posts, but you can also create cool graphics like this one below! (which happens to be a pin, which equals more traffic back to my site)…
Because I am all about the ideas (imagine what happens when we’re brainstorming together one-on-one?!) I am throwing some out there for you to help in your marketing mix!
Here is some local content ideas for you to get started, no matter the platform or your business:
- Best coffee shops
- Best places for entrepreneurs to get work done
- Instagram worthy photo-opp locations
- Best patios for drinks
- Date night spots in town
- What you need to know about —– (hiking trail, swimming spot, camping, etc)
- Where to go glamping
- Most unique AirBNB’s
- Best places to shop local
- How to get from A to B like a local
- Best breakfast / breakfast tacos
- Tourist attractions
- Best day trip spots
- How to plan a girls getaway
- Where to get pampered (on the cheap / most luxurious)
Include numbers and the name of your town when possible (ie: 10 Instagram worthy locations in New Braunfels or New Braunfels, TX: Planning the ultimate girls’ getaway).
At the end of the day, think of your brand and your ideal customer. Serve them, and have fun doing it!
