Date nights are cherished for my husband and I now that we are parents. It is an interesting change to go from just the two of us to becoming three. With no family nearby, we are very fortunate to have my parents visit us monthly so we can get out and enjoy each other’s company.
It was easy for us to fall into a date night routine back in Austin. We had been in the area for 9 years, so we knew what we loved and tended to stick to that. Now that we are in a new area, it is so exciting to explore New Braunfels and take in everything this vibrant town has to offer!
This post is not a sponsored post, but purely written by my own personal enjoyment. I did, however, receive a BOGO deal, and you can too! Click here to check it out.
If you find yourself in New Braunfels (or maybe you live here…hi neighbor!) then I have a fun, unique date night idea in-store for you!
We arrived for dinner at 7pm, which is recommended on their website if you’ll be seeing the show at 9pm. We walked up a long deck clearly marked by signs to the entrance of the restaurant. At 7pm, the place was fairly empty – but we saw a steady flow of patrons before the place became full by the end of our dinner.
We sat by large windows overlooking the lake and truly felt like we were transported to a whole new area. We looked over the menu, and because Mi Amor and I eat strictly no sugar or carbs and were unable to try their appetizers or dessert. So, we both ordered the Salt-Block Seared Filet Mignon and it was the best steak I’ve ever had. Moist, sizzling and flavorful. There is nothing quite like having an authentic Chef-prepared entree.
After dinner we went downstairs to sit on the “beach.” I picked this spot because traditionally Mi Amor and I have spent the last several of his birthday’s in Mexico, sipping drinks and eating tons of Mexican food on the white-sand beaches. We didn’t make it this year, so we brought the beach to us! Sitting out there, toes in the sand watching the sunset, was a perfect way to spend an hour before the show.
Just before 9pm, we went back and picked our seats. The theater is an intimate space with couches and comfy chairs facing the small stage. We enjoyed Last of the red hot lovers by Neil Simon, directed by Sylver Monaco (one of the three sisters that own Sylver Spoon). We were entertained and really enjoyed the acting – nothing was lost on this production!
If you are looking for a fun and unique date night, I highly recommend Sylver Spoon. Whether you grab dinner, watch a show or just grab drinks and sit on the beach, I guarantee you will have a great time. Rekindle or start a new romance at this fun, local spot! And support local.
