Lisa’s Loves: Fashion & beauty products I am loving right now

1 / 30 / 191 / 30 / 19

I haven’t shared a list of my loves since October, so I knew time was due! Originally I wanted to post this monthly, but #life. Funny thing is I had SO MUCH to share because November included birthday gifts, then December with Christmas. But, the benefit of waiting (aka procrastinating) is that I will only share the items I am still loving weeks later!

So, let’s dive in. Today I am sharing my most favorite fashion, beauty and mom products from November to January!

The Best Christmas Children’s Book

12 / 14 / 1812 / 18 / 18

Best Christmas Book

I have always been a lover of all things Christmas. It is the most exciting time of the year for me. Even before I was a Believer, it was the holiday I looked forward to January through November.

Now, as a mom, I have a whole new outlook on this amazing holiday. We take in all the local events, share the story of Jesus and enjoy shopping for gifts. Our three-year-old is beginning to love the season, too!

Here are a few traditions we hold dear to our hearts, and I hope it helps inspire you to build memories with your kiddos.

How to build community as a stay at home mom

How to make mom friends

When I made the transition to stay home with BabyCoolJ last year I went from having a very full calendar to not a thing to do. No mom friends, no playdates, no activites. As a social (yet love-my-alone-time) person, I knew I needed to work on changing that stat.

Within months I had met the most amazing moms, joined multiple groups and built real community. If we hadn’t moved, I like to think my kiddo would have grown up with all these friends, and I’d continue to have lots of play dates and mommy dates.

Now that we’re in a new town, I am starting from scratch. And I’m not letting any time pass! We enjoyed our first few weeks being home and getting to know our new town, but both my son and I need friends. We need community.

So I think I’m in a pretty good place to make some suggestions to moms out there that are seeking friendships. Here are some of my favorite ways I’ve met my mom friends:

How to find a new church after a move

4 / 30 / 184 / 30 / 18

How to find a church after a move

Being a part of a church family is important to my husband and I. We want to be connected, be filled with His Word and grow in community. And we’ve learned (the hard way) what being disconnected does to our lives and our family.

But it can be hard to church shop. Hopping from church to church can be exhausting, and while I look forward to visiting a handful of new congregations, I wouldn’t want our list to be too long.

The best women’s study Bible you’ll ever read

She Read's Truth Bible: Book of Ruth

Last year was a big milestone for me in my faith. I had an amazing Christian mentor, signed up and attended 4 bible studies and made some awesome Christian friends, particularly other mamas in a similar season. It is no surprise that God moved me in a huge way. And it was all tied up in a pretty bow when God answered my prayer of finding the best Bible I had been searching for.

My Bible search journey began with one little Bible study. What I find so fascinating is that somehow several of my studies tied together so perfectly and I can’t resist the urge to share with you how transformative it all was, and encourage you to pick up one (or all) of these books.

Walking out in faith: How radical obedience changed my life

Heads up: This post was updated April, 2018. Some of the links on this page are affiliate links which means and you can read more about that here.

Y’all, something huge just happened last night!

So, let me preface this by saying I am currently reading What Happens When Women Say Yes to God by Lysa Terkeurst. I have faith and trust in Him, however I struggle with discerning on His vs. my thoughts/desires/ideas. Lots of crazy stuff enters my mind and I don’t know where it is coming from!
