This week my oldest and dearest friend had her first baby! I received the news yesterday, so I immediately did what any long-distance girlfriend would do: ordered a few must-have items on Amazon Prime.

I can’t stop saying it….we’re almost moved!!! This year has been a whirlwind with making the decision to relocate, staging our home and now getting ready for our big move to New Braunfels this week.
We listed our home the first week in January and had to keep it staged, clean and tidy for two and a half months. Y’all, with a toddler!! A boy toddler. So, needless to say, finding easy meals has been a must.
Mother’s Day has taken all a whole new meaning for me since becoming a mom. I love celebrating the day with my family, and because my love language is gifts I’m happy to be on the receiving end of this beautiful holiday!
This list is admittedly items I would totally want (there ya go, hubby…easy!) and includes things that inspire me. And they are wonderful for any gifting occasion – Birthdays, anniversaries and just “thought of you” gifts. (MEN: take note of that last one!)
It’s official! In exactly one week, we will be moving out of our first home. The entire process has been so bittersweet, but the light at the end of the tunnel is our exciting move to New Braunfels, TX!
I absolutely love exploring a new city, especially with my toddler. Seeing things through a kid’s eyes makes it so much more exciting.
One of the new features I’ll begin including on lisaalfaro.com is information about New Braunfels. Whether you’re new in town, want to make a day trip or planning a vacation, I hope I can be a resource to you and your family.
I’ve fought this whole diaper bag thing for a while. I totally embraced it when my kiddo was an infant, but just didn’t see the point in investing in another bag after he was running around and soon-to-be toilet trained.
My last diaper-friendly bag broke and I was using a regular handbag…which is just not good when you frequent the park.

I love playdates. My kiddo is entertained, I have adult conversations and it is usually a pretty stress-free way to spend a day. Now that our home is officially under contract, I don’t have to keep it staged anymore. So I jumped at the opportunity to host a playdate yesterday!
I get so much joy from shopping. My spending has been majorly curbed with becoming a stay at home mom and now with our upcoming move. But every once in a while I find some amazing deals….and get to spend some commission money!
This week was particularly hard. BabyCoolJ had strep throat and is always a terror on antibiotics, and he also had a bad fall that brought EMS to our house. Thankfully all is good – but this mama needed some retail therapy!
There are good habits…and there are the bad ones. The bad ones are always so easy to form and the hardest to kick. But I’m a glass-half-full kinda gal, so I wanted to share some tips to help inspire you to survive (and thrive!) in motherhood. Cause mamas, we gotta stick together and focus on those victories!
Anyone else miss having a meal where you don’t have to talk someone off the ledge? This can often be dinner (or lunch or breakfast) with a toddler!
Okay, so before you read past the title I have a confession: even though I am about to share the best way to start your day, I am guilty of hitting that snooze button and skipping over this more than I’d like to admit. There are days that I don’t even set an alarm (aka pre-meditated snoozing). Those days are never as good, no matter how many great activities we have planned.
I am not a morning person. In fact, my father would throw water on me in the mornings so I would wake up for school. Then I would proceed to sleep in the bathtub while the shower ran. I’m grumpy. I am naturally a night owl, I was never meant for mornings.
