Y’all, life is so crazy right now. If you follow me on Instagram you know I decided to take a last minute trip to Dallas with my toddler. My parents were gracious enough to invite us to stay in their suite while my dad worked all week. With my husband traveling so much it was an easy decision….no cooking, cleaning or staging and REST? 8 things I’ve learned since becoming a Christian
I love being a believer. My life is fuller, brighter and full of hope. I think it is such a shame that there is a stigma that comes with being a Christian, but after reading the New Testament one quickly learns that is the way it must be. Christians have been and will continue to be persecuted.
I grew up in a Christian household only to deny my faith in my early 20’s. I spent my entire 20’s chasing my own selfishness. Finding pleasure in the world. But I have never been happier since becoming a Christian.
I chose Jesus in 2014. Mi Amor and I have become steadfast in our faith and are proud to be Christians. But it didn’t come without plenty of bumps along the way, so I know I have some interesting insights on what it means to me to be a Christian.
My favorite wardrobe staple (and how to style it!)
My number one, ultimate must-have item that is always a staple in my closet: the denim jacket.
I use the because I own more than one, and use them anytime the weather isn’t smoldering (I am in Texas, so maybe 4 months of use!). I have a jean one and a white one, both are cropped to flatter my height. And they make any outfit feel pulled together, which makes it my absolute favorite wardrobe staple.
So I’ve put together some awesome pieces for you, along with helpful tips. Everything below is options in misses and plus, so I’ve got everyone covered! Read More
Then and Now: a look at my life in 2008 vs. 2018
Life is so crazy right now, but even though I am beyond busy I have had a lot of time to think. Probably because I’m spending a lot of time sitting in my car during last minute house showings and Mi Amor has been traveling a lot.
I’ve been thinking a lot about how life changes. Particularly, how crazy mine is from just 10 years ago (and even more wild, 20 years…of course!). I thought it would be fun to do a little comparison between circa 2008 and the present. (Thanks, This is Us).

Channeling your inner Moses
Do you ever feel inadequate? Maybe the thought of not feeling like enough crosses your mind from time-to-time. Or maybe you get instantly nervous, clammy or have a quick need to pee when you find yourself having to speak in front of others.
Do I have a story for you, strait out of His Word! But first, I’m going to share a little about me before we channel our inner Moses.
Diversity shouldn’t be a dirty word
I had a conversation with someone the other day about our relocation and it made me start to ponder why I put such an importance on moving to one city versus another. It boils down to diversity.
I do not come from the mindset of not seeing color – I absolutely see color, culture, gender, and everything in between. I do, however, believe in diversity and it is important to me. I embrace the uniqueness in us all.
But I have a hard time wrapping my mind around how people use diversity. I once worked for a company that made the employees take multiple staged photos just to try to get one that showcased enough diversity so they didn’t look biased. Diversity in our workplace is such a PC thing…and can be super annoying when you are one that gets called for every staged photo. Read More
Stress of selling your home got you down? Here are 6 scriptures to help with free graphics!
Y’all, it has been a hard week. I mentioned here that we are currently trying to sell our home, and I am finally feeling the wear and tear from daily staging and caring for my toddler alone. Mi Amor has been traveling for 2 weeks, and while keeping the home clean with one less person is helpful, I am really feeling exhausted. So where do I turn to in times of distress? God’s Word.
Don’t get me wrong – I am still struggling. If I have learned anything in 2017 it is that God’s plan is so much better than mine. But in the thick of it, it can be challenging to be patient. Waiting on God can feel like being on the phone with no one on the other end. But I know He’s there, listening and working to make everything better than I can imagine.
The best (non) diaper bag for my active toddler
Anyone with an active toddler (and lots of playdates) can attest to the importance of a good bag. Retiring a diaper bag can leave a mama feeling a little disheveled – where do you put everything?? And honestly after that first year I was so ready to be “my own person.” I was done lugging around a diaper bag. So I went on a mission to find the best non diaper bag out there. My must haves: large, comfortable, many pockets, outer pockets, cross-body and able to carry like a handbag.
Well, I finally found her.
The best women’s study Bible you’ll ever read
Last year was a big milestone for me in my faith. I had an amazing Christian mentor, signed up and attended 4 bible studies and made some awesome Christian friends, particularly other mamas in a similar season. It is no surprise that God moved me in a huge way. And it was all tied up in a pretty bow when God answered my prayer of finding the best Bible I had been searching for.
My Bible search journey began with one little Bible study. What I find so fascinating is that somehow several of my studies tied together so perfectly and I can’t resist the urge to share with you how transformative it all was, and encourage you to pick up one (or all) of these books.
How to get your home stage ready on the daily (plus a free printable!)
We made the decision to list our home in December, and life has been a crazy whirlwind ever since. It was pretty sudden and we were not prepared at all, so we made it a full week of cleaning, staging and packing the week before Christmas. With prayer, determination and some pretty organizing items, we made it happen!
I’m all about making things pretty and organized (even though my life has always been chaos). And while I could write endlessly on how to pack up your life, today I am focusing on something way more intimidating…
